The Evolution Championship Series (EVO), the world’s largest fighting game esports event, has announced that it will host an edition in France in 2025.

EVO France will take place in October 2025 in Nice. This is the first time the tournament organiser will host a large-scale Evo event in Europe.

The Evolution Championship Series is a notable fighting game event featuring thousands of players who compete across over a dozen games at every edition.

Although mostly known for its events in Nevada, US, EVO has hosted events in other parts of America and some countries, including Los Angeles, Tokyo and now France. Evo’s 2025 calendar will once again feature editions in Tokyo (May 9th – 11th) and Las Vegas (August 1st-3rd).

Evo will also host a Los Angeles event in February, however, it will be an awards show called EVO Awards. The awards show will be sponsored by Qiddiya, a Saudi Arabian infrastructure project focused on entertainment.

Alongside announcing a major edition in Europe, EVO revealed that it will host a large-scale event in Singapore in 2026.

Although the EVO France tournament was announced officially, little is known about the event apart from the host city and the dates. The event will take place between October 10th and 12th. Although this is the first large-scale EVO competition and expo in Europe, the company has organised Road to Evo competitions in the continent on a much smaller scale.

The news was announced during EVO Las Vegas, which concluded earlier this weekend. In 2023, more than 80% more participants participated than the year before, hinting at the fast growth of the FGC.
