Former Fnatic and GIANTX CEO Wouter Sleijffers has announced his position as co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer at ELO Agency.

Launched earlier this year with two other esports event veterans on board, ELO Agency is an esports agency that focuses on brand activation and event management solutions.

Sleijffers announced his position in a post on LinkedIn, calling it the “starting point of a larger mission with more to come.”

According to the company’s website, ELO Agency offers a variety of services including strategy and research, brand activation and premium event operations. It aims to help brands to maximise their objectives with a “holistic, end-to-end approach, regardless of the already existing involvement in the space.”

ELO Agency was announced in April 2024 by two other co-founders, CEO Roald Van Buuren and COO Jan Moerland, who together count extensive experience in the esports events space.

Van Buuren was an early hire at esports company FACEIT, working in the company for 10 years, and was the Director of Esports prior to creating ELO. Moerland, on the other hand, first worked at ESL, becoming Global Director of League Operations. In the past four years, he moved to FACEIT as a Tournament Manager, leading its league operations team.

Sleijffers has been in the esports space for nearly a decade, working as CEO at leading European esports organisations Fnatic and EXCEL Esports (now GIANTX). Sleijffers stepped away from EXCEL’s CEO role in 2023, moving into an Advisor role. Before his esports endeavors, he worked as a VP of Marketing Services for payments platform Paysafe.

Separately, last year he also co-founded MC3.GG, a venture studio specialised in digitally-native businesses and projects.
