Hardware brand Philips has announced two new gaming displays for its Evnia lineup. The displays come in two sizes, 32 and 27 inches, and are otherwise identical.

The new models — called 27M2C5501 and 32M2C5501 — feature VA panels, 180Hz refresh rates and a QHD (2560×1440) resolution.

The two new displays are a part of the Evnia lineup, which aims to be a gaming-focused range of displays that have more subdued design elements than some competitors. The aim is to allow the monitors to be used in offices, as well as in gaming setups. The brand’s approach is somewhat different to competitors, as Evnia tries to be as approachable and welcoming to new gamers, which is not often found in the gaming hardware segment.

The two new displays will cost £219.99 for the smaller, 27-inch model and £259.99 for the larger one. These products slot into the Evnia 5000 lineup, which is aimed at the middle of its market. For example, Evnia also consists of 3000, 7000 and 8000 product ranges.

Philips has utilised its well-known lighting system called Ambiglow in the new monitors, offering a similar experience to its TV range, where the technology to light up the wall behind the monitor is called Ambilight. Philips says that the monitors use AI-enhanced lighting modes to improve the overall performance of the lighting.

In addition, the monitors offer higher resolution than some competitors and adaptive sync, making them an interesting option to those aiming to have an all-round monitor for both gaming and work, especially with the larger-sized model.
