Taiwanese esports organisation CTBC Flying Oyster has claimed the inaugural League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) trophy following a 3-1 victory against TALON in the Split 1 finals.
The first event under the newly formed LCP banner saw teams from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region compete for a chance to represent the region at League of Legends’ First Stand international event.
LCP Split 1 commenced in January with eight teams from across the region competing in round-robin matches. The top six teams from the round-robin phase qualified for the Playoffs.
CTBC Flying Oyster finished the round-robin phase with a win/loss record of 6-1, tied with eventual finalist TALON Esports.
By securing a place in the top two, CTBC Flying Oyster automatically advanced to the second round of the Playoffs where it defeated GAM Esports 2-0 to secure a place in the winner’s bracket final against Vikings Esports.
The team managed to win 3-1 with bot laner Chiu ‘Doggo’ Tzu-chuan earning the series MVP award thanks to impressive performances in games one and three with Ezreal and Kai’Sa respectively.
Defeating Vikings Esports set up a Grand Final match against TALON, the team that topped the round-robin phase alongside CTBC Flying Oyster.
TALON opened the series with a sub-30 minute victory before CTBC Flying Oyster swung the momentum of the match in its favour, winning three straight maps to win the series 3-1. This time it was mid-laner Tsai ‘hongQ’ Ming-hong who stepped up for this team, claiming the grand final MVP accolade.
LCP Split 1 managed to break a quarter of a million viewers for its inaugural event, recording peak viewing figures of 261,090 according to Esports Charts. However, the Grand Final wasn’t in the top five most-viewed matches of the Split.
CTBC Flying Oyster’s match against Viking Esports recorded the highest viewership, with the former only being the fourth most popular team in terms of watch hours across the event (2.8m hours watched).
By winning the opening Split of the 2025 LCP season, CTBC Flying Oyster will be one of five teams competing at First Stand, the first cross-regional competition of the 2025 League of Legends season.
Taking place from March 10th to 16th, 2025, the winners of LEC Winter, LTA Cross-Conference, LCK Cup, and the first LPL and LCP splits will compete for the trophy.
