Sentinels claimed victory over Shroud X in the day 2 opening match of Marvel Rivals Invitational 2025 North America (NA).

It was the most anticipated showdown of the tournament, after Shroud’s surprise move to ditch plans with Sentinels and launch his own esports organization.

Sentinels made a post on X boasting about its victory against the former member’s team, with the tagline ‘welcome back to esports, Shroud.’

Shroud clapped back with a remark of his own, saying: “We had you sweating though, no?”

The match between the two was incredibly close, with remarkable plays and shortcomings from both sides.

After Sentinels unveiled its Marvel Rivals roster without Shroud, speculation was running rampant on whether Shroud was opting to compete against his former organisation.

Heading into this match, Sentinels were the favourites to win following its performance on Fight Night. Though Shroud X didn’t relent, in the end, the squad fell short as Sentinels dominated the last game.

  • Game 1 – Sentinels face a close call, winning 2-1 in domination, Hell’s Heaven
  • Game 2 – Shroud X pull through with a 3-4 win in convergence, Symbiotic Surface
  • Game 3 – A landslide win from Sentinels, prevailing 1-0 in convoy, Midtown
  • End Score: 2-1 for Sentinels

Sentinels’ Chassidy ‘aramori’ Kaye said: “That was a really close match, my heart is still kind of beating like crazy. But you know we had a good time, and I think we were feeling really strong about the Midtown picks.”

Sentinels Lose to 100 Thieves in Day 3 of Marvel Rivals Invitational

Sentinels come crashing down on Day 3 of Marvel Rivals Invitational NA 2025 following the highs of day 2 as they suffer a 1-2 loss to 100 Thieves recently unveiled team.

It’s a repeat of history after 100 Thieves triumphed over Sentinels in Marvel Rivals Fight Night #2 NA.

Here’s how the games went:

  • Game 1 – 100 Thieves claim first game, winning 0-2 in domination, Hell’s Heaven
  • Game 2 – Sentinels claw their way back with a 1-0 win in convoy, Midtown
  • Game 3 – 100 Thieves take home the victory, ending 1-2 in convergence, Hall of Djalla
  • End Score: 1-2 for 100 Thieves

Marschal ‘Terra’ Weaver, a player for 100 Thieves, said: “I’m a little sad that we trolled a little bit on the second round and we had to drop a map. We were the undefeated team of 4-0, which is now sadly 6-1, but you know some things just happen and you got to keep moving forward.”

It was an even worse day, however, for Shroud X, who lost to FlyQuest 2-0.

Parker ‘lyte’ Lewis, a player for FlyQuest, said: “We feel much better, we sat down and found there was just miscommunication on the first map about our draft, and that just happens.

“The second map was much closer, and I think the guys and myself are feeling really confident that going into the Marvel Rivals Invitational next week, when the actual matches start, we have the opportunity, and the skill, and the potential to beat everybody.”
