Team Liquid has revealed a new jersey in celebration of the esports organisation’s 25th anniversary.

Alongside Team Liquid’s sponsors, the jersey also features its anniversary emblem, which was introduced earlier in the year.

The jersey, which was announced on Team Liquid’s social media, was revealed alongside a short video and the caption: “25 Years of Esports History. 25 Years of Scaling.”

Fans can purchase the new jersey at the Team Liquid store starting April 4th.

Its design is minimal, with Liquid’s signature blue colour, light-blue accents and a simple collar on the round neckline. The organisation’s anniversary emblem is displayed prominently in the centre of the chest.

According to a press release, the emblem was inspired by the ‘medieval crests of old’, tying back to the organisation’s original medieval and fantasy-inspired branding. It features the Liquid’s horse in white on a blue shield adorned with a decorative header to highlight the organisation’s history.

“For years, our co-founder, Victor Goossens, was better-known as ‘Nazgul’ — a name taken from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Our Six Mane Shield logo came from Tolkien too, stemming from the old banner image on TL.net,” Team Liquid noted when discussing the emblem.

While the emblem will be used across Liquid’s social media and branding throughout the year, the organisation noted that it is not a permanent rebrand.

25 Years of Team Liquid

Global esports organisation Team Liquid was established in 2000 as a clan for the real-time strategy (RTS) game StarCraft. Since then, it has grown into one of esports’ most notable organisations with rosters in numerous titles, including Counter-Strike, VALORANT, League of Legends and Dota 2.

Liquid also runs Liquipedia, one of the most-used wikis in gaming and has three esports training facilities worldwide, in partnership with gaming peripherals brand Alienware.

For its 25th year in esports, Team Liquid has already made several expansions. The team returned to competitive Overwatch and signed two chess players, Fabiano Caruana and Magnus Carlsen.
