ONE Championship and Animoca Brands launch blockchain-powered game

Martial arts organisation ONE Championship has officially entered the world of Web3 gaming with the launch of ONE Fight Arena.

This free-to-play mobile game was developed by Notre Game, a subsidiary of blockchain powerhouse Animoca Brands, and fuses fast-paced fighting with strategic puzzle-solving. ONE Fight Arena is now available on both iOS and Android.

The game was originally announced in April 2023, and now ONE Fight Arena comes to fruition following months of anticipation and development. Its launch was accelerated by a partnership between ONE Championship and the Sui blockchain, which became ONE’s official blockchain partner last September. 

The game immerses players in the world of martial arts through a unique blend of match-3 puzzle mechanics and PvP bouts. 

It features a roster of over 20 ONE Championship superstars, including legends like Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson, Rodtang ‘The Iron Man’ Jitmuangnon, Stamp Fairtex and Jonathan Haggerty. 

The game also allows users to guide fighters from early career stages to world title glory.

ONE Fight Arena is designed for quick gameplay; each match lasts just 2-3 minutes, making it ideal for mobile play. 

Players earn in-game currency called Adrenaline by completing quests and participating in battles, which can be redeemed for a broad range of real-world and digital rewards. These include official merchandise, gift cards, VIP experiences and SUI crypto tokens.

Although rich in blockchain features, ONE Fight Arena is designed to be accessible to all players, regardless of their level of crypto exposure. 

Web3 integration is powered by the Sui blockchain, enabling digital ownership of select in-game assets without requiring users to set up a crypto wallet or navigate unfamiliar technology. 

Players can optionally upgrade in-game fighters to Pro Edition Athlete NFTs using gold slabs earned during events and fights or purchased directly. These NFTs unlock enhanced Adrenaline rewards and grant additional perks.

The blockchain aspects are seamlessly embedded in the background, allowing newcomers to enjoy the game traditionally while offering crypto-savvy players a path to even deeper engagement.
