Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 Roadmap Rundown
Following the roadmap’s release, a closer look at all of the new content can be found below:
Black Ops 6
- Five new multiplayer maps
- Five new weapons
- New Ranked Play rewards
Season 4 sees the arrival of the Fringe map to multiplayer. Having featured as part of the competitive map pool for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, there’s a possibility of the map returning for Black Ops 6’s Championship Weekend and the Esports World Cup.
Warzone
- The Overlook POI
- Horizontal ziplines
- The return of Ranked Play: Resurgence
The Verdansk map’s Downtown point of interest (POI) has received a makeover with the addition of The Overlook, a skyscraper that’s under construction. Players can enter the building and utilise ziplines to ascend and descend quickly, while those on the outside can climb the two cranes located around the building’s perimeter.
For quicker movement around Verdansk, vertical ziplines have arrived to Downtown, enabling players an escape route from The Overlook.
What to Expect From Season 4
Based on the roadmap Treyarch has revealed, the Season 4 update for Call of Duty will feature a variety of new content that could spark change among both titles’ esports scenes.
The arrival of the FFAR assault rifle, the LC10 submachine gun and the Essex Model 07 marksman rifle is bound to provide players with even more choice when building a loadout for competitive play.
How Will Season 4 Impact Esports?
Due to the existing ruleset, the additions to the weapon arsenal won’t impact the Call of Duty League (CDL), but will encourage a meta change in Warzone.
The battle royale’s Ranked mode and competitive tournaments exclusively feature Black Ops 6 weaponry, meaning the additions of the FFAR, LC10 and Essex Model 07 will be the perfect opportunity to adjust the meta. New weapons combined with an expected dose of weapon balancing will shake up the loadouts being used by the best players in the world.
Alongside new weaponry, Warzone Ranked Play will have two variants, with Ranked Play Resurgence arriving during the season. Ranked Play Resurgence will feature a separate skill division that will run alongside Ranked Play Battle Royale.
