Call of Duty’s World Series of Warzone (WSOW) has announced its return for 2025, with top trios fighting for a share of its $1m (~£741,688) prize pool.
The competition will see qualifiers take place globally starting on June 20th, via the In-Game Open, as players begin their journey to lock a spot at the WSOW Grand Final.
The Call of Duty: Warzone 2025 WSOW season will be based on Verdansk, the game’s first map, which was brought back last month.
World Series of Warzone Format
According to the official format, players can compete in the open qualifier stage in North America and EMEA on June 20th-22nd. The best 10 scores will count toward the team’s score. At the end of the In-Game Open, the top 100 trios from the two regions will advance to the Group Play Gauntlet.
During Group Play, teams will be assigned into four different groups, each competing against every other group in a five-drop matchup. According to the World Series of Warzone website, the group stage will take place between July 7th to July 16th.
The top 25 will go to the Qualifier Finals, set to take place July 17th, and the bottom ten will be eliminated. The remaining teams will instead head to the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) in August.
For APAC, LATAM North and South regions, teams will qualify through an online Private Match Competition to decide the representatives (one for APAC, three for LATAM South, and four for LATAM North).
Regional Finals will then decide the 15 representatives from each region at the WSOW Global Final. The non-qualified teams will have a second chance in the LCQ, where five extra teams will be selected for the championship, as well as an extra wildcard winner. More details on the final event will be revealed at a later date.
Last year, the World Series of Warzone Global Final took place in Las Vegas, featuring the top 34 teams across the world and a $950,000 (~£704,470.8) prize pool. The competition was won by the trio of Andrew ‘Biffle‘ Diaz, Kasimili ‘Soka‘ Tongamoa, and Shifty, all under Team Falcons.
