Esports tournament organiser BLAST has announced that its Fortnite Pro-Am 2025 event will be shown across selected AMC cinemas in the United States.

The event being shown in cinemas is a result of a partnership between the tournament organiser, IMAX Corporation and ticketing company Fandango.

A total of eleven AMC cinemas will show the Pro-Am event taking place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California on May 10th, 2025. Tickets to the cinema showing include concession credit, a limited-edition poster and access to Twitch drops taking place throughout the event.

The FNCS Pro-Am 2025 sees 20 professional players join forces with content creators to compete in the battle royale’s Reload mode with a chance to win a lion’s share of its $500,000 (~£375,131) prize pool.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Fandango to bring the FNCS Pro-Am to IMAX screens across the U.S,” said Charlie Cowdrey, Program Director for Fortnite at BLAST. “This partnership marks a major moment for Fortnite Competitive fans – combining the spectacle of live esports with the immersive power of cinematic viewing.”

In recent years, the trend of showing esports events in cinemas has continued to grow. In 2022, Riot Games partnered with Lexis to show the League of Legends World Championship across cinemas around the world.

Is 2025 the year of Fortnite?

2025 has already been a strong year for Fortnite esports. Its FNCS Majors recorded impressive viewing figures as fans tune in to watch their favourite players compete for a chance to qualify for the Global Championship.

Taking place from September 6th to 7th at the LDLC Arena, the Fortnite World Championship sees 33 teams compete for its $2m (~£1.5m) prize pool.

Moreover, with several notable influencers taking part in the Pro-Am alongside some of the best players in the world, viewers can expect a healthy mix of entertainment and competition.
