Tournament organiser StarLadder has revealed the dates for its Major Regional Qualifiers (MRQ) for November’s Budapest Major.

Alongside revealing dates for the qualifying matches, it has also revealed the dates for invites to Counter-Strike 2’s (CS2) second Major of 2025.

The MRQs will take place from October 16th to 19th, 2025, while invites to the qualifiers will be distributed on October 8th. In addition to details on the MRQs, StarLadder has also revealed that direct Major invitations will be sent to teams on October 8th.

Alongside the dates, the organiser also confirmed the regional breakdown of the MRQs, which will feature online matches for teams located in Europe, North America, South America, West Asia, East Asia, and China.

The StarLadder Budapest Major is the second CS2 Major taking place in 2025. From November 24th to December 12th, 32 teams from across the world will compete for a share of a $1.25m (~£924,062) prize pool and will follow the same three-stage format being used at the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

Similar to other MRQs, matches will take place online, with the eventual winners earning a place in the opening stage.

StarLadder Budapest Major Clashes

While StarLadder has provided teams with plenty of notice ahead of the MRQs, the announcement has resulted in clashes with four other CS2 tournaments taking place in October.

The Thunderpick World Championship, CS Asia Championship, Roobet Cup, and the Fall edition of the MESA Nomadic Masters take place between October 13th and 22nd.

As a result, teams looking to qualify for the Major will have to choose to compete in the qualifiers or the competitions which clash with the MRQ.

This isn’t the first time MRQs have conflicted with another tournament. The Spring edition of YaLLa Compass saw several teams withdraw from the tournament despite a move to online competition in a bid to ease the scheduling issues.

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
