Riot Games has unveiled the best-selling team capsules of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2025 season so far.
The announcement, made on Saturday prior to the VCT Masters Toronto final, saw Riot rank the five most-sold capsules from each of the four regional leagues. Exact selling numbers, however, were not revealed. Riot Games noted that data was recorded from the end of VCT Stage 1.
After winning VCT last year, EDward Gaming unsurprisingly topped the charts for the Chinese region, ahead of BiliBili Gaming in second and JD Gaming in third. All Gamers and Trace Esports rounded out the top five.
Competitive results at the international stages have been playing a major role in driving sales for specific team capsules. In the Pacific region, for example, Korean team T1 has overtook Paper Rex in the first half of the season, using the momentum from its unexpected Masters Bangkok victory.
Paper Rex (second), however, will likely get closer or take the top spot back, having recently won VCT Masters Toronto, which peaked at over 1.1m viewership.
The other top teams in terms of digital capsules were Team Secret (third), Gen.G Esports (fourth) and Japanese team DetonatioN Focus Me (fifth).
2024’s Top Teams Continue to Lock Out VCT Team Capsules Sales
Both Western regions have their top three teams from last year locking out the rankings in 2025 so far.
That being said, the rankings among the top three have changed. In VCT Americas, both Leviatán and G2 Esports have now overtaken Sentinels (third), with the former taking first place in the first half of the year. 100 Thieves (fourth) and KRÜ Esports (fifth) are the two teams that have made it to the top five.
In the EMEA region, Team Heretics topped the leaderboard after finishing on a high note at the end of last year’s VCT with a second-place finish.
The Spanish team finished ahead of Karmine Corp (second) and Gentle Mates (third), driven by their large French communities. Fnatic, the top-selling team in August 2024, dropped down to fourth this year, although its recent top-two finish might help them gain momentum for the rest of the competitive season. In fifth place is BBL Esports.
The VCT Team Capsules programme, developed by Riot Games, has been an important addition to the VALORANT esports ecosystem. It guarantees some financial stability for esports teams while allowing fans to support their favourite organisation directly.
The capsules offer exclusive goods (a Classic skin, a player card, a spray, and a gun buddy) in team colours. In 2024, Riot distributed $44.3m (~£34.8m) to the 44 participating teams through digital content sales.
