With the 2025 VCT Ascension Pacific approaching, Riot Games has unveiled the slot distribution for all Challengers Leagues within the region.

The tournament will feature a total of 10 teams, just like last year’s edition; however, this time, most of the slots have been allocated to Southeast Asia.

This is because VCL Indonesia, Hong Kong & Taiwan, Malaysia & Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam have all been merged into the new VALORANT Challengers League Southeast Asia.

Here’s the full slot distribution:

  • Southeast Asia (SEA): 4
  • South Korea: 1
  • Japan: 1
  • South Asia: 1
  • Oceania: 1
  • Flexible Slots: 2

The two flexible slots are reserved for Nongshim RedForce and BOOM Esports in case either or both get relegated back to Ascension. However, if one or both slots remain unfilled, they will be awarded to the SEA League, meaning up to six teams from Southeast Asia could qualify for Ascension 2025.

For this to happen, a guest team would need to either extend its stay in VCT Pacific by qualifying for VALORANT Champions Paris, or get relegated back to Challengers in case they fail to make it to Stage 2 Playoffs.

“The philosophy was to stay close to 2024 distribution as much as possible, reflecting the scale and concentration of talent in the SEA region, but also ensuring flexibility for visitor teams entering the event,” said Jake Sin, Head of VALORANT Esports for VCT Pacific.

VCT Pacific Ascension will take place from October 13th to 26th in Bangkok and will follow a double-elimination format throughout the event.

At the end of the tournament, either the winner or the top two teams will advance to VCT Pacific, depending on Nongshim RedForce and BOOM Esports’ performances in VCT Pacific Stage 2.

Riot will announce ticketing details for the live audience soon; however, the event will also be streamed live on VCT Pacific’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
