G2 Esports has moved Janusz ‘Snax‘ Pogorzelski to the inactive roster as the organisation prepares to move Nemanja ‘huNter-‘ Kovač into the IGL role.
The decision is made in response to the team’s recent underwhelming performances, especially after losing Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač and Ilya ‘m0NESY’ Osipov to Team Falcons.
Snax joined G2 Esports in July 2024 and lifted both the 2024 BLAST Premier Fall Final and World Final trophies with the team.
“We can’t thank Snax enough for his contributions and plays since joining us last year,” said G2 Esports in its official announcement.
“We wouldn’t have been able to lift the BLAST Fall Final and BLAST World Final without you. With this, Snax has been placed on the bench. We will say goodbye properly when he is no longer on our roster.”
However, since its BLAST triumphs, the team hasn’t achieved a top-five finish, except at PGL Bucharest. Recently the team has undergone multiple roster shuffles, including the recent additions of Alvaro ‘SunPayus’ Garcia and coach Eetu ‘sAw’ Saha.
“Today I’m benched from G2 Esports. Every line-up felt like my last dance — I always gave it my all. I’m proud knowing I did everything I could as worst IGL,” said Snax on X (Twitter).
Snax is set to be replaced by Matúš ‘matys’ Šimko from Fnatic, according to HLTV. G2 Esports hopes to regain stability and improve its VRS ranking, which is currently the lowest since January 2024.
If confirmed in time, he will likely debut under the G2 Esports banner at IEM Cologne 2025, scheduled to take place from July 23rd to August 3rd.
Here is the full active CS2 roster for the organisation as of this writing:
- Nemanja ‘huNter-‘ Kovač (IGL)
- Mario ‘malbsMd’ Samayoa
- Nikita ‘HeavyGod’ Martynenko
- Alvaro ‘SunPayus’ Garcia
- Eetu ‘sAw’ Saha (Coach)
