Matt ‘Nadeshot’ Haag has become the most-watched Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) streamer over the past seven days.
The former Call of Duty player and 100 Thieves‘ Founder has spent thousands opening cases in a bid to earn valuable in-game skins.
Since June 27th, 2025, Nadeshot has amassed 702,665 hours watched, reaching peak viewing figures of 23,707, according to data platform SullyGnome.
The 100 Thieves Founder first started opening cases on June 23rd, before spending over $40,000 (~£29,313) on cases to unbox a valuable knife or a rare pair of gloves.
Nadeshot shows no sign of slowing down his case-opening broadcasts. On July 4th, he revealed he purchased 2,000 Glove Cases and plans to open them after the Independence Day holiday.
With Nadeshot achieving impressive viewing figures for his case opening streams, other content creators are also following the trend. Former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player and content creator Jaryd ‘summit1g’ Lazar was the second most-watched Twitch streamer, amassing 561,075 hours watched over the same seven-day period.
Nadeshot’s Counter-Strike Boom
The uptick in Nadeshot’s viewership has sparked renewed interest in Counter-Strike cases and Valve’s first-person shooter title’s skin market. In May, it was reported that the in-game item market had exceeded $5bn (~£3.6bn).
CS2 remains one of the most popular esports titles in the world. The BLAST.tv Austin Major became the most-watched Counter-Strike event in history with over 76m hours watched over the event’s 135-hour airtime.
Outside of the title’s cases, Counter-Strike continues to attract interest from various esports organisations. After departing the scene in 2021, ENVY owner Mike ‘Hastr0’ Rufail revealed the organisation is actively scouting a team to field in international tournaments.
