VCT EMEA’s Team Liquid and Americas team MIBR have secured their spots at VALORANT Champions 2025 in Paris, running from September 12th until October 5th.

Both teams qualified for the season-ending tournament through VCT Points following their region’s Stage 2 matches last weekend.

Team Liquid Rewarded For Its Consistency

Team Liquid is the region’s second roster to qualify for VALORANT Champions after Fnatic, who reached 18 VCT EMEA Points with their victory over Apeks in the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Group Stage.

While both Liquid and Fnatic concluded their journeys in Group Omega with a 4-1 total match score, Liquid led the group heading into Playoffs thanks to a better map score. The team also won its first Playoffs match against GIANTX (2-1) and will next face BBL in the Upper Bracket Final on August 29th.

Interestingly, it was through NAVI’s victory over Team Heretics (2-0) yesterday that Liquid locked in one of the top four ranks on the VCT EMEA Points leaderboard, which guarantees its qualification for Champions. The team now sits in second place with 16 points, followed by Heretics’ 14 points.

Meanwhile, other Playoffs contestants like BBL, NAVI and GIANTX can only make Champions if they finish in first or second place during Stage 2.

MIBR’s Unusual Path to Champions

Unlike Team Liquid, MIBR has already concluded its Stage 2 run. The Brazilian roster, featuring VALORANT legend Erick ‘aspas’ Santos, finished third at VCT Americas Kickoff and Stage 1 but was unable to advance past the Group Stage this time around.

However, the overwhelming regional dominance of G2 Esports and Sentinels throughout the season, combined with MIBR’s decent performances in earlier competitions, still gave the team a chance to make it to Champions via VCT Points. Only KRÜ Esports, currently on seven points, could take MIBR’s slot with a successful Playoffs run.

In a stroke of luck, KRÜ had to start its Playoffs run in the lower bracket and lost its first series against fellow South American team Leviatán (1-2).

Thanks to KRÜ’s early elimination, MIBR shares third place on the region’s VCT Points leaderboard with NRG and Cloud9, as all three teams have earned nine points so far. In comparison, the top two rosters, G2 and Sentinels, have 27 and 20 points, respectively.

It is now down to NRG and Cloud9 turn to compete for the final Americas slot at VALORANT Champions. The teams will meet in the Lower Bracket Semifinal on August 30th after the Upper Bracket Final between G2 and Sentinels on the same day.
