Team Liquid replaces The MongolZ at BLAST Open London

Team Liquid has taken the place of The MongolZ at BLAST Open London after the Mongolian Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) team encountered visa issues.

As a result, Team Liquid, which failed to qualify for the event through the online qualifiers, has another opportunity to compete among the best teams in the world.

The MongolZ is unable to attend the event due to its inability to travel to the UK if it earns a place in the playoffs, which takes place online. The closed qualifier, which will commence later this month, will be played online.

Team Liquid’s journey to the English capital has been turbulent. During the online qualifiers, the team lost to VP.Prodigy, the academy roster of Virtus.pro.

For Team Liquid, a chance to compete at BLAST Open London is a chance to rediscover some form following a tricky start to the second half of 2025. After deciding against making a roster change following the BLAST.tv Austin Major, it was eliminated from IEM Cologne with two defeats to FaZe Clan and MOUZ.

Before BLAST Open London takes place from September 5th to 7th, the organisation is competing in BLAST Bounty Season 2. It overcame ECSTATIC in its opening match in a series that saw Train go to five overtime periods before earning its first victory of the season.

Team Liquid isn’t the only replacement team taking part in BLAST Open London. On August 1st, 2025, the tournament organiser announced PaiN Gaming would replace Aurora Gaming at the event.
