Respawn Entertainment has shared that Wild Iron, a new event for Apex Legends’ Wildcard mode, will launch with the mid-season update later this month.

The event will begin on September 16th, 2025, bringing a new Mythic weapon and cards to Wildcard, alongside meta changes to the battle royale.

Wild Iron brings new explosive action to the Wildcard mode during Season 26: Showdown, ending on September 30th. EPG-1 grenade launchers will be featured in Mythic bins during matches, and Bocek bows will see higher spawn rates.

A new Mythic Flatline will be available through Rampart Care Packages, bringing two new effects. The weapon adds a time bomb to enemies when knocked, which can only be removed when revived by a teammate. Additionally, every fifth round of fire from the weapon will deal double damage and cause an explosion on impact.

New Wildcards will also be available during the event, with new abilities including marking enemies with explosive damage, instant reloads on knocks, extra ordnance and more.

Players can also acquire a new lineup of event items available throughout the event, similar to Galactic Games. Gun charms, event badges and Crafting Metals can be obtained through the reward shop, which will rotate halfway through the event.

There will be new Legendary skins for Lifeline, Pathfinder, Vantage, and other Legends, alongside weapon skins for the Mastiff, Bocek, and Nemesis, among others.

Meta Updates in the Mid-Season Patch

Details were also shared about changes coming to Legends in the mid-season update, looking to shake up the in-game meta for both casual players and esports professionals in Apex Legends.

Mad Maggie will receive key changes to her Level 2 upgrades. She will receive the new Gunrunning upgrade, extending her passive to SMG’s and pistols. Fireball also receives an additional effect, with the Wrecking Ball ultimate now dropping magma patches on the ground as it moves. Mad Maggie will also take 50% less fire damage with Fireball active.

Seer will also undergo a significant change to his kit. The Long View upgrade becomes a permanent part of his passive, which has received improved UI visibility. His tactical gives Seer a speed boost for four seconds when activated, effects last longer and cooldown is reduced. Finally, Artists’ reach now becomes a permanent part of his kit, and Seer gains enhanced jumping and ADS hover when inside.

Additionally, Seer gains two new level two upgrades. Lasting Beats marks enemies for five seconds after leaving the ultimate, and Home Base recharges tactical cooldown four times faster while inside the ultimate. A new level three upgrade has also been added, which regenerates 25 shield when hitting an enemy with the tactical ability.

There are also additional changes for legends Sparrow, Caustic and Ash, ranging from kit adjustments to rotating in new upgrades.

Balance changes will also arrive in the mid-season update, which includes some of the most popular weapons used in the ALGS Split 2 Pro League. For example, the Peacekeeper shotgun’s choke spread is being increased; the Bocek bow will see decreased charge time and a tighter hipfire spread, and a turbo-charged related perk has been removed from the Devotion LMG.
