KRAFTON India has revealed its H2 2025 roadmap for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports, with as many as three slots to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) up for grabs.

The remainder of the year will feature the return of the BGMI Showdown (BMSD) along with a new cross-regional tournament between India, South Korea and Japan called the BGMI International Cup (BMIC).

With both events featuring invited teams, KRAFTON has said that it will be expanding its Indian-based Campus Tour to give grassroots talent an opportunity.

“This roadmap isn’t just about tournaments. It’s about elevating national talent, giving international exposure, and positioning India as a rising powerhouse in the global esports ecosystem,” the company said on LinkedIn.

The new roadmap comes after KRAFTON reportedly postponed its plans to bring a franchised league to the country.

BMSD and BMIC to feature £83,000 prize pool each

The BMSD and BMIC will each feature a prize pool of INR 10,000,000 (~£83,000). Firstly, the BMSD will see 48 Indian teams competing for the title and a single slot to the PMGC 2025.

It will kick off on September 18th in Hyderabad, with the finals scheduled for October 10th to 12th, 2025, per Inside Sport.

This will then be followed by BMIC. The PUBG Mobile Japan League’s (PMJL) X account has revealed that the tournament will be held offline in India from October 31st to November 2nd.

Overall, BMIC will have eight teams from India, with another eight coming from South Korea and Japan. While the split for international teams hasn’t been revealed, it’s likely to be four each.

The top two teams from the BMIC will also qualify for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship. The host city for the BMIC hasn’t been revealed yet.

Notably, KRAFTON publishes PUBG Mobile, developed by Tencent’s Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, in the three countries which are a part of the BMIC: Japan, South Korea, and India (through the localised BGMI).

Tencent’s global publishing arm, Level Infinite, is responsible for PUBG Mobile in other regions.

India Returns to Global PUBG Mobile Tournaments

With this addition, it marks the first time India is returning to the PMGC since 2021, when GodLike Esports represented the region.

It also marks the second consecutive appearance for the region in international tournaments for PUBG Mobile, after the World Cup (PMWC) in Riyadh. This suggests that India may now become a recurring region for global tournaments.

The PMGC 2025 will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of PUBG United, alongside PUBG PC’s Global Championship (PGC). The exact schedule hasn’t been announced yet.
