The Spanish Call of Duty Federation (FECOD) has announced a partnership with Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise Miami Heretics.
As a result of the deal, the two parties will join forces to develop and launch a national Call of Duty esports circuit, along with assisting the growth of the title’s ecosystem in Spain.
According to a release, the creation of a national esports circuit for Call of Duty is designed to offer ‘an open, structured, and attractive space’ for players and teams to grow within a ‘federated and professional framework’.
The inaugural edition of the league will conclude with a LAN event taking place at Team Heretics‘ headquarters in Madrid. Details on the circuit’s format and the date of the event have yet to be revealed.
“For FECOD, this agreement is more than a collaboration; it is confirmation that Call of Duty in Spain has a future,” said the Federation in a statement.
“Together, with a historic club like Team Heretics, we can build a solid, lasting, and exciting project for the community.”
The Growth Of Spanish Call Of Duty
Over the past decade, the Spanish Call of Duty scene has cemented its place on the international stage.
In 2016, Team Heretics became the first Spanish organisation to qualify for the Call of Duty World League (CWL). In 2023, the organisation partnered with Misfits Gaming to launch the Miami Heretics franchise, where it recorded some strong performances during the 2025 season.
This year, another franchise, Toronto Ultra, hosted the second CDL Major of Black Ops 6 in Madrid, Europe’s first Call of Duty event since the London Home Series in 2020.
The creation of a national league for Spanish Call of Duty has the potential to provide long-term stability, along with a place for aspiring players and teams to compete in a professional environment.
