Seer has quickly risen the ranks as the most popular Legend of choice for players in Apex Legends Season 26: Showdown, according to data platform Apex Legends Status.

The Recon character has supposedly spiked to a 15.8% pick rate, an increase of over 4000% since his previous pick rate at just 0.3% near the beginning of September.

Seer has been able to fly past some of the most popular Apex Legends characters in 2025, including Ash (12.4%), Mad Maggie (10.8%), and Alter (6.9%). The character has become particularly popular in ranks Gold IV, Platinum IV, and even Apex Predator.

Part of the reason for his sudden popularity may stem from the recent buffs that he received in the mid-season update.

His base kit saw improvements all around. For example, his tactical cooldown was reduced, the duration of its effects was increased, and it now grants a four-second speed boost when activated. He also gained two new level two upgrades that significantly improved the utility of his ultimate.

It is worth noting that Apex Legends Status is not officially associated with Electronic Arts or Respawn Entertainment.

How Seer Performs in Esports

Seer’s pick rates in competitive playlists are in stark contrast to the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS). In the currently ongoing ALGS Split 2 Pro League, Seer has seen a 0.17% pick rate in APAC South and has yet to make an appearance in Americas, EMEA or APAC North.

As such, some of the top-performing teams in the tournament so far, such as Alliance for EMEA and Pioneers for Americas, have yet to use Seer. Characters such as Newcastle, Alter, and Sparrow have proven to be far more popular choices for the top players in the world.

Only time will tell whether Seer will see further use in the tournament, which sees the top teams around the world compete for a place in the ALGS 2026 Championship and crucial Championship Points.
