Team Falcons has been crowned champions of The International 2025 at Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany.

The International 2025 is the fourteenth annual edition of the Dota 2 tournament and is the crowning event of the season. It saw 16 of the best teams, invited and qualified, compete for the lion’s share of a prize pool worth over $2.7m (£1.98m).

After several stages of intense matches against the best teams from across the globe, the organisation secured nearly $1.15m (~£845,400) in winnings after defeating Xtreme Gaming 3-2 in the Grand Finals.

Stars Align for Team Falcons

Team Falcons was one of eight invited teams competing in the tournament, featuring powerhouses such as Team Spirit, PARAVISION, and Team Liquid among others.

It started with The Road to The International, running from September 4th to 7th, 2025. For the first time, the Group Stage would feature a Swiss-system instead of a round robin.

Team Falcons didn’t have the strongest start, ending the Group Stage in seventh after losing vital matches against Team Tidebound, and the dark horses of the event, Xtreme Gaming.

Team Falcons then clutched a place in the Playoffs after winning against Team Spirits with a 2-0 score. At the same time, last year’s winner, Team Liquid, had been knocked out by Tundra Esports, meaning it was all to play for.

The Playoffs, otherwise known as The International, ran from September 11th to 14th, where Team Falcons excelled. It claimed a 2-0 revenge victory against Team Tidebound in the Quarter-finals, followed by a 2-1 win against BB Team in the Semi-finals.

Team Falcons qualified for the Grand Finals after winning 2-1 against PARAVISION in the Finals. At the same time, Xtreme Gaming managed to claw its way from the Lower Brackets to the Bo5 Grand Finals.

In the end, Team Falcons proved to be the stronger team after winning 3-2 against its Chinese rival.

The roster’s victory at The International 2025 rounds off the season on a high note for the organisation after a year of mixed results.

Prior to the event in Germany, Team Falcons also won FISSURE Universe Episode 6 after winning 3-0 against Team Spirit in the Grand Finals. However, Team Falcons also placed runners-up in the Dota 2 tournament during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, in addition to the BLAST Slam III event in Copenhagen.
