Wolves Esports has become China’s best Call of Duty Mobile team after claiming victory at the Call of Duty Mobile Major 2025 event.

The esports branch of English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Qing Jiu Club 4-2 in the Grand Final.

The Call of Duty Mobile Major 2025 began in July and concluded on September 14th, 2025. Asia’s biggest Call of Duty Mobile league featured 13 teams from the region competing for a place at the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2025, along with the lion’s share of a ¥2.2m (~£226,927) prize pool.

Wolves Esports was one of two teams representing a city during this year’s competition, resulting in the team being renamed Chongqing.Wolves. The name change comes after the team received major investment and opened a facility in the city.

The team kicked off the tournament with a flawless Stage 1, earning a place in the Stage 2 Masters Group. A 3-2 win-loss record secured a place in the Seat Decider, a single-elimination bracket that would decide which teams would earn a place in the Stage 3 Masters Group and those who would qualify for the Challengers Group.

A 5-0 record in the Stage 3 Masters locked in a playoff place, with upper bracket victories over Stand Point Gaming and Qing Jiu Club securing qualification for the Grand Final, where it faced against Qing Ju once again.

Wolves Esports went go on to secure victory in the Grand Final, defeating Qing Ju 4-2 to win the Major and earn a place at the World Championship.

COD Mobile World Championship 2025 And Wolves’ Chances

Heading into the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship, Wolves Esports is one of several teams in contention for outright victory. The team is one of three from China to qualify for the season-ending event taking place in Katowice, Poland.

The team will be aiming to win its second world title, after winning the event back in 2023.

Notably, the World Championship will not see any North American teams competing. The United States will feature two players representing organisations based in Mexico and India, respectively.

Teams are split into four groups of four, with a GSL format determining the two teams that qualify from the Group Stage to the Playoffs.

The Playoffs will use a double-elimination bracket with best-of-five matches until the Grand Final, which will use a best-of-seven series to determine the event’s winner. The team that qualifies for the Grand Final from the upper bracket will start with a one-map advantage.
