The Clash Royale League Worlds Finals 2025 has become the game’s most popular tournament to date, with 698,426 peak viewers.

According to esports data platform Esports Charts, this year’s final attracted over four times as many peak viewers compared to the previous edition at 141,777.

Clash Royale is a real-time multiplayer mobile game developed by Supercell and starring characters from the studio’s breakthrough title, Clash of Clans.

Similar to its sister game, Clash Royale has its dedicated tier-one esports ecosystem. The Clash Royale League (CRL) comprises several global competitions, culminating in the annual CRL World Finals.

The 2025 World Finals garnered over 3.8m hours watched and 324,021 average viewers across under twelve hours of airtime.

It has also become the most-popular Clash Royale tournament by peak viewers in the history of the esports title. Previously, this record was held by the 2018 World Finals, which had 361,849 peak viewers.

This year, back-to-back champion Mohamed Light played in the two most-watched matches of the event: the Grand Final against Brazilian player Sub and the Lower Bracket Final versus Pedro ‘Pedro’ Sousa.

Unsurprisingly, these three competitors accrued the highest numbers in terms of peak viewership and hours watched.

The most-visited broadcast of the World Finals 2025 was the Twitch channel of variety gaming creator jynxzi with 78,377 peak viewers.

However, YouTube was the overall more popular viewing platform for CRL fans. The site recorded 404,207 peak viewers compared to Twitch’s 188,085.

Most viewers tuned into the English broadcast (333,465 peak viewers), followed by the Portuguese (158,329) and Spanish (90,613) live streams.

What Made the CRL World Finals 2025 Different?

Heading into the 2025 season, the CRL announced a new community-focused format. This included four organisations hosting events that offer leaderboard points as well as four Golden and Silver Tickets.

In addition to these World Finals qualification pathways, each event featured a $50,000 (~£37,282) prize pool.

Another major change from last year was the event location. While the 2024 edition was part of Supercell’s SuperFest in Finland, this year’s World Finals took place at DreamHack Atlanta from October 31st until November 2nd.

The tournament’s size was also expanded. Instead of eight players, twelve competitors battled through the double-elimination bracket.

Whilst viewer rewards are a common practice among tournament organisers, Supercell additionally hosted the CRL 2025 Awards at DreamHack Atlanta. This award show allowed CRL fans and stakeholders to vote for the best moments of the league’s 2025 iteration.
