T1 has confirmed that its star jungler Mun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun will stay with the team until 2028.

The announcement on social media comes as an early present for the fans as well as a birthday present for the League of Legends player, who will be 23 tomorrow.

The organisation stated that Oner’s contract extension reflects his role in “shaping the team’s history” and T1’s excitement to keep “building an even brighter legacy” together.

Since joining in 2020, Oner has helped T1 win three global championships, further cementing the organisation’s international fame. His gameplay, strategic decisions, and leadership have made him a key part of the team both on and off the Rift, earning respect from teammates and other players.

Fans have also welcomed the news, seeing it as a sign of stability for one of the world’s top League of Legends teams.

Looking ahead to 2026, Oner’s contract extension comes at an important time for T1. Just weeks ago, longtime ADC Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong left the team to join Hanwha Life Esports. Oner is the second-oldest member after Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok. Keeping Oner on the roster will provide T1 with the consistency it needs after going through impactful changes in recent seasons.

Oner’s Role in T1’s Evolution

In recent years, T1 has undergone significant roster changes, and Oner has been a steady presence. When Oner first joined T1, he did so with the majority of the legendary roster ZOFGK, composed of Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je, Oner, Faker, Gumayusi, and Keria. In just a couple of years, that T1 roster pushed the team back to League of Legends’ Worlds Finals, claiming two titles together.

Zeus left the team in 2024 to join Hanwha Life Esport, Gumayusi followed just a year later. T1 welcomed top laner Choi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-joon at the beginning of 2025 and recently introduced  2025 and Kim ‘Peyz’ Su-hwan as the team’s next ADC.

While mid laner Faker has always been the central figure of T1, guiding the team through years of competitive success, Oner has become equally indispensable. His consistency in the jungle allows the team to adapt to new teammates while maintaining a competitive edge.

As T1 looks to 2026, Oner offers experience and reliability. His presence strengthens T1’s chances to compete for both domestic and international titles while continuing to shape the team’s long-term legacy.
