Spanish multi-sports club FC Barcelona has officially entered women’s VALORANT esports with its Barça eSports GC roster.
The club already fields League of Legends and VALORANT teams and now aims to qualify for the annual VALORANT Game Changers Championship later this year.
Despite its rich history in traditional sports, FC Barcelona expanded into esports in 2019 with a Rocket League roster.
Since 2024, the club has also been competing in VALORANT’s tier-two ecosystem as part of the Challengers Spain: Rising circuit. Its most notable achievements to date include the 2024 Rising Split 2 trophy and a top 10 finish at VCT Ascension EMEA in the same year.
“This all-female team forms part of FC Barcelona’s commitment to promoting initiatives that foster equality and inclusion in sport, one of the cornerstones of being ‘More than a Club’,” the official press release stated.
Launched in 2021, Game Changers is VALORANT’s global esports ecosystem dedicated to providing a safe and competitive environment for women and other marginalised genders.

Barça eSports GC features five players with plenty of competitive experience across tier-two VALORANT and the Game Changers circuit. Check out the full line-up below:
- María ‘Toki’ Pérez (IGL and Controller)
- Alba ‘Annie’ García (Flex)
- Paula ‘devilasxa’ Martínez (Sentinel)
- Eylül ‘miyori’ Sarıoğlu (Duelist)
- İlayda ‘Lyda’ Güzeldere (Initiator)
- Fabián ‘Quick’ Pereira (Coach)
Both Toki and devilasxa competed at last year’s Game Changers Championship, albeit with different organisations, GIANTX and SK Nebula, respectively. Moreover, Toki and Annie previously played together for Case Hydra in 2023.
Lyda has participated in every edition of Game Changers since its inception, while miyori made her GC debut in 2023 as a young duelist prodigy.
The players are further supported by Quick, who will be coaching his first esports team after his retirement from competitive VALORANT last year.
Barça eSports GC will make its debut today at 6 PM BST in the VALORANT GC EMEA Closed Qualifier, aiming to advance to the Stage 1. All matches will be broadcast on the club’s official Twitch channel.
