LCK 2026 Season Opening teams revealed

Riot Games has revealed the participating players for the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2026 Season Opening.

Five teams comprising of top LoL professionals will compete on January 9th, starting from 6 PM KST / 9 AM GMT in Seoul, South Korea.

The Season Opening is a celebratory exhibition event that will kick off off the next LCK season. Players are drafted into mixed teams based on their roles (such as top laner and jungler), with each team led by an assigned captains.

They come from multiple League of Legends organisations, including the Worlds 2025 champion T1, alongside other top teams such as Gen.G Esports (Gen.G), Hanwha Life Esports (HWE), KT Rolster, and more.

All Teams and Players Competing

Here are the teams representing each role at the 2026 LCK Season Opening:

Team TOP

Choi ‘Zeus‘ Woo-je from HWE is the captain of Team TOP. He is joined by Gen.G’s Kim ‘Kiin‘ Ki-in, Lee ‘DuDu‘ Dong-ju from SOOPers, T1’s Choi ‘Doran‘ Hyeon-jun, and Hwang ‘Kingen‘ Seong-hoon from Nongshim RedForce.

Kiin is the only player in this team who competed in the 2025 edition of LCK Season Opening, where his team finished as runner-up.

Team JGL

Team JGL features junglers from across the league, with T1’s Mun ‘Oner‘ Hyeon-jun being the IGL. He will play alongside HWE’s Seo ‘Kanavi‘ Jin-hyeok, Kim ‘Willer‘ Jeong-hyeon from DRX, KT Rolster’s Mun ‘Cuzz‘ U-chan, and Kim “GIDEON” Min-seong from Hanjin BRION.

Oner previously played in the 2025 showmatch under the leadership of Han ‘Peanut‘ Wang-ho, placing third overall.

Team MID

Team MID is the reigning champion from 2025, and is once again helmed by the League of Legends icon and T1’s mid-laner, Lee ‘Faker‘ Sang-hyeok. Supporting him in the showmatch is Dplus’ Heo ‘ShowMaker‘ Su, Lee ‘Scout‘ Ye-chan from Nongshim RedForce, Gen.G’s Jeong ‘Chovy‘ Ji-hoon and Son ‘ucal‘ Woo-hyeon from DRX.

Both ShowMaker and Chovy were part of Faker’s winning lineup in 2025, though only time will tell whether they can defend their title.

Team BOT

Team BOT has appointed Park ‘Ruler‘ Jae-hyuk from Gen.G as its captain. He will be joined by T1’s Kim ‘Peyz‘ Su-hwan, Park ‘Teddy‘ Jin-seong from Hanjin BRION, Dplus’ Sin ‘Smash‘ Guem-jae and Nam ‘Diable‘ Dae-geun and FEARX.

Teddy is the only member from Team BOT’s 2025 roster returning for the 2026 LCK Season Opening.

Team SUP

Team SUP features a lineup of support players led by captain Ryu ‘Keria‘ Min-seok from T1. During the exhibition match, he will be supported by KT Rolster’s Jang ‘Ghost‘ Yong-jun, Kim ‘Kellin‘ Hyeong-gyu from FEARX, HWE’s Yu ‘Delight‘ Hwan-jung and Kim ‘Life‘ Jeong-min from SOOPers.

Out of these five players, only Keria and Delight previously competed in the 2025 showmatch.
