ONIC ID has edged closer to qualifying for the Knockout Stage of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship.

On day five of the Swiss Stage, it was do-or-die for the six competing teams, as a loss would have led to the team’s elimination from the tournament.

ONIC Gets Closer to Knockout Stage

The main storyline revolved around ONIC. Competing from home and entering the tournament the first seed from Indonesia, the team was expected to make a shot at the trophy. However, that has not been the case in the Swiss Stage.

Following shocking upsets against Yangon and Team Spirit, ONIC has been in questionable form despite a stellar season, which also saw the organisation finish fourth at the Mid-Season Cup 2025 as well.

However, the squad seems to have regained its footing with a dominant performance against Singapore’s EVIL.

ONIC closed out both matches within the 13-minute mark. In game one, it dominated throughout, securing an impressive victory with a 12,000 gold lead.

Game two, on the other hand, saw the team wipe out EVIL during the first Lord fight and take a big gold lead. This eventually led to an easy series win for ONIC.

The team is now just one match away from making it to the M7 Knockout Stage.

Team Zone and Black Sentence Esports Eliminated

In the other two crucial matches, CFU Gaming faced off Team Zone, a squad that made it through the Wildcard stage, while CG Esports faced Black Sentence Esports (BSE).

CG Esports from Malaysia, a rapidly evolving region for MLBB esports which is set to enter franchising in 2026, also did not have a smooth run through the Swiss Stage. On the verge of elimination, the team was first up against LATAM’s champion BSE.

While CG dominated game one, BSE made a comeback to take the series to the third game.

The final game was fairly close as both teams traded kills and objectives. However, a late-game teamfight saw all but one of BSE’s players eliminated, allowing CG taking the series.

Finally, CFU denied Mongolia’s Team Zone a slot in the Knockout Stage with a 2-0 win, dominating game one with a clean performance.

Game two, however, was a more competitive. While CFU established an early lead, Team Zone refused to go down without a fight. The team managed to secure the second and third Lords, almost completing a perfect comeback. However, CFU ultimately came out on top after securing a fourth Lord to shatter the enemy’s base.

M7 World Championship Swiss Stage Enters Final Day

Now, all eyes will be on the final day of the Swiss Stage, which will determine the final three teams advancing to the Knockout Stage. The match-ups are as follows:

  • Team Spirit vs CFU Gaming
  • Yangon Galacticos vs CG Esports
  • Falcons Middle East vs ONIC ID
