HEROIC has a new CEO, long-time leader Joachim Harg. HEROIC currently has teams in Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.

On LinkedIn, Harg wrote: “I’m happy to share that I’m stepping into the CEO role at HEROIC! Lots of opportunities ahead. With the best (and funniest) people in the industry, I’m confident we’ll make the most of them.”

Who is Joachim Harg?

Harg has been with HEROIC for four-and-a-half years. He started in 2021 as the Head of Finance after gaining experience as a financial leader at Innovation Norway and Nordea.

After spending two years as HEROIC’s Head of Finance, Harg moved to Chief Financial Officer from September 2023 to February 2026.

Over the years, he’s expressed a passion for HEROIC and its teams, following the team’s journeys closely.

HEROIC Hopes For Esports Redemption in 2026

After finishing 5th at The International last year, the organisation made history in the Dota 2 scene for Latin America. However, HEROIC wanted to take it further, feeling it was time to make ‘meaningful changes in order to keep pushing forward and competing at the very top.’ The organisation signed new players and moved existing ones to different roles.

The Dota 2 roster now includes:

  • Yuma ‘Yuma’ Langlet
  • Santiago ‘TaiLung’ Gustavo
  • Adrian ‘Wisper’ Dobles
  • Thiago ‘Thiolicor’ Cordeiro
  • Matheus ‘KJ’ Diniz

The organisation’s CS2 team has been struggling to perform this year and is now ranked 21st in the world. While it reached 2nd and 3rd consistently in Majors back in 2022 and 2023, HEROIC has continued getting eliminated early from tournaments like IEM Chengdu in November 2025 and PGL Cluj-Napoca in 2026.

HEROIC is looking for a fresh start in 2026. It benched its Counter-Strike 2 Academy team in late 2025 but its new roster is not performing much better.

With new partnerships, new players and a new CEO, HEROIC is hoping to see big changes this year.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
