China has officially joined the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) Partner Programme in 2026.
One year after the region retained its own server, three slots have been given to the most accomplished esports teams in the scene.
These include Weibo Gaming, JD Gaming, and All Gamers Club. Additionally, the Chinese region will also have temporary partner slots to give out to outstanding teams.
According to the official announcement, Weibo Gaming has earned its slot after going undefeated in OWCS China Stage 3 and finishing in the top six at the latest OWCS World Finals last November.
Weibo will be joined by JD Gaming, whose lineup will consist of former members of Team CC. The latter came runner-up in both the first and third stages during the 2025 OWCS and also took part in the year-end World Finals as a Chinese representative.
The third Chinese organisation in the 2026 OWCS China Program will be All Gamers Club (AG). Based in Chengdu, it has yet to announce its roster but is known for its strong record in other game titles, including Honor of Kings and League of Legends through Anyone’s Legend.
In addition to the three partner teams, OWCS China also confirmed a temporary slot for the Chinese team Milk Tea, which came third in Stage 3 and has been consistently one of the top teams in the league since its joining in mid-2025.
These four teams will be joining the other 11 teams from North America, EMEA, and Asia to complete the 2026 OWCS partner lineup.
China Opens Applications for Overwatch World Cup Committee
The Overwatch World Cup will be making its return this year, taking place in Anaheim between August and September. With China already confirmed among the 16 participating nations following its runner-up finish in the previous edition that took place in 2023, the country has also opened the registrations for the national team committee.
Split into three departments, including team manager, coach, and social media, the committee will be established ahead of the player selection process, which is expected to be confirmed by April.
Introducing the Overwatch Radiant Series
As part of the announcement, OWCS China also unveiled the Overwatch Radiant Series, designed to allow players of any level to get closer to competitive play.
The Radiant Series is split into three parts, including the Radiant Arena, the Radiant Ranking, and the Radiant Playoffs.
In Radiant Arena, players will be able to form five-player squads and compete in the in-game tournament mode for additional rewards, with no rank requirement.
Radiant Ranking, meanwhile, is made for high-level players, allowing them to accumulate points based on match results and individual performance. Once the season ends, players will be permanently recorded on the Radiant Ranking system and receive ranked rewards, including cash prize pool.
For players wanting to go pro, OWCS also introduced the Radiant Playoffs stage, which will gather the top players from each role to compete in a Group Stage and elimination bracket using the official OWCS ruleset.
