Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Mobile will launch early in India, becoming the first country in the world to get access to the mobile version of the first-person shooter title.
The rollout for Rainbow Six Mobile is set to begin at 7.30 PM IST (2 PM GMT) on February 19th.
Announced via Rainbow Six Mobile’s social media, Indian players will be able to play the game four days before the rest of the world. The shooter will launch as a free-to-play title globally on February 23rd.
India features one of the largest mobile gaming and esports industries in the world. According to research conducted by Niko Partners, over 500 million people play games on mobile devices in the country, providing a strong platform for Ubisoft to launch Rainbow Six Mobile to a massive audience.
“I’m really excited for the worldwide release of our game next week,” said Chirag ‘Tito’ Morab, Graphic Technical Director at Ubisoft. “We’re currently warming up our servers in Mumbai. To my fellow compatriots, welcome to Rainbow Six Mobile and see you in the game.”
Prior to announcing its early release, Ubisoft revealed that Rainbow Six Mobile’s Ranked Mode will be taken offline until the global launch. As a result, the title’s competitive mode will go live at exactly the same time, enabling all players to begin on equal footing.
Rainbow Six Mobile’s Esports Potential in India
Launching in India also provides Ubisoft access to a community that is no stranger to the world of mobile esports.
In July 2025, Garena announced the return of Free Fire Max esports, sparking a wave of interest among industry stakeholders and players looking to compete in the arena shooter. Elsewhere, KRAFTON’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) remains one of India’s most popular titles, with several tournament organisers hosting events regularly.
Rainbow Six Mobile offers players a more tactical gameplay experience compared to other shooter games. With a wide range of similar titles continuing to prove popular within the Indian market, it will be interesting to see the impact of Rainbow Six Mobile as players load into the action.
