VALORANT Masters Santiago Playoffs opening brackets and schedule revealed

Riot Games has unveiled the opening brackets and match schedule for the VALORANT Masters Santiago Playoffs.

A live draw was held after the conclusion of the Swiss Stage, with the regional first seeds getting the opportunity to select their opponents.

To decide the matchups, all Swiss Stage teams and regional champions were placed in two separate pools. The regional first seeds were then drawn, and the team’s coaches were asked to choose the rival team, with regional matches allowed.

The first team picked was Nongshim RedForce, and the Ascension squad will make its international debut against Gentle Mates, which defeated Fnatic to qualify for Masters Santiago. 

Gentle Mates will also be playing in its first-ever global VCT event; however, its IGL Patryk ‘starxo’ Kopczyński has previously lifted the Champions trophy in 2021.

All Gamers, the only Chinese representative left in the tournament, shockingly picked three-time VCT Americas champion G2 Esports, with the latter looking to secure its first international title. 

The host team FURIA, whom FNS recently apologised to for not believing in, decided to give the community an entertaining matchup against Paper Rex, which also happens to be the streamer’s favourite organisation. The clash is already expected to be the most-watched series of the tournament so far.

“If Paper Rex wants to play against us, let’s go,” FURIA’s head coach Ian ‘shaW’ Jardim said.

With that, BBL Esports, consisting of former Ascension players, was left with the reigning VALORANT Champions winner NRG as its opponent. However, according to the team’s head coach Mert ‘KEY‘ Çelebi, BBL would have chosen NRG anyway.

Masters Santiago Playoffs will feature a double-elimination bracket kicking off on March 6th, with the winner decided on March 15th. Check out the opening schedule below:
