Team Huma’s European Challenger Series spot has been purchased by Webedia Group and Bang Bang Management, and with a nod to the recent established partnership between these companies and PSG, it has been revealed that the team will be rebranded as Paris Saint-German eSports from next season. psg

Former Huma owner Behdad Jaafarian is believed to have received in the region of $70,000 (£57,739) for the club according to ESPN.

Jaafarian was reportedly forced to sell the organisation following a fall out between himself and Riot Games. The developer primarily banned him and Huma from any Riot Games affiliated league after the team failed to pay the required minimum rate compensation to its players and oblige stipulations in the contract too.

Agency Bang Bang Management’s CEO Sasha Brodowski is said to have negotiated the terms of the sale. This means that next season in League of Legends then there will be at least two traditional football clubs represented with PSG, formerly Huma, joining Schalke 04 Esports, formerly Elements, in the ranks.

This deal has led to the notion of a conflict of interest being discussed on Twitter. This was mainly centered around the fact that Webedia also owns LoL team Millennium, and Bang Bang Management works with both Fnatic and represents their LoL player Bora ‘Yell0wstaR’ Kim.

Esports Insider says: PSG’s entrance into esports has been long coming after Webedia acquired the rights to the licensing and branding on the club’s behalf some months back. It has now entered but in somewhat complicated circumstances due to the prior relationships that Webedia holds in the League of Legends scene. More on this as it comes to light.
