Gfinity has announced that Hashtag United has joined the Elite Series for Seaosn 3. The season gets underway on Friday 9th March and will see Hashtag United branch away from just FIFA to be involved in Rocket League and Street Fighter V.

Hashtag United was founded by Spencer Owen back in 2016 and grew on YouTube from a football team between friends who filmed their matches and posted online to playing in front of 35,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. The Hashtag kits are amongst a select few that appear in FIFA 18 – and now the organisation will bring its dedicated following to the Elite Series.

“The signing of Hashtag United is further evidence of the success of the Elite Series and its appeal to multiple communities from real-world football and gaming,” said Neville Upton, CEO of Gfinity. “Hashtag United has a huge fanbase with incredible reach and the chance for amateur gamers to join their ranks and be part of their next venture is something that will excite all players who are competing in the Challenger Series.”

“I’m absolutely delighted that Hashtag United will be part of the Gfinity Elite Series as it’s where my own personal journey with esports began and, more importantly, where Hashtag United’s esports team was born through The Spencer FC Game Academy where we signed our first player, Harry Hesketh,” said Spencer Owen. “We now have the opportunity to branch out into other titles and I am looking forward to the Draft and to sign some new players to join the Hashtag family and represent us on FIFA 18, Rocket League and Street Fighter V. I can’t wait for this to start and for Hashtag United to be part of the Elite Series, hopefully picking up some trophies along the way!”

Esports Insider says: Another big name for the Elite Series. Hashtag join the likes of Fnatic, Team Vitality and EnVyUs and will enter Rocket League and SFV for the first times. Interesting times – we look forward to seeing the tournament get underway shortly!

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
