Fenerbahçe has entered the esports fold via the SuperMassive.TNG’s Turkish Champions League League of Legends spot. fenerbache

The club, based in Istanbul, will be hoping to succeed where neighbours and rivals Beşiktaş failed after its two attempts at League of Legends glory.

The initial spot which Fenerbahçe now occupy is the exact one which SuperMassive took over from Beşiktaş. Beşiktaş then moved to sponsor Oyun Hizmetleri but the former Turkish Championship League team was relegated in 2016.

Had they not been, esports could have gained an exciting first clash of traditional sports club rivals.

Somewhat confusingly, but important to note, Fenerbahçe acquired the spot of SuperMassive.TG not SuperMassive, who will themselves still compete in the TCL. TNG is a sister side of SuperMassive. As per developer Riot’s rules state that one organisation cannot have two teams competing in the same league region, much like in football where Real Madrid Castilla must forever be satisfied with the Segunda División B, which incidentally they won last season.

Due to these rules SuperMassive.TNG was passed along to Fenerbahçe.

It is these same rules too which have led to questions over Webedia Group’s interest in and rebranding of Team Huma to PSG Esports, as it already owns Millennium. Both are expected to compete in the EU Challenger Series.

Esports Insider says: Rarely a day goes by currently where a sports club doesn’t enter esports in some form. The LoL entrance is a road less trodden however, and many will be hoping for Beşiktaş to reemerge to offer League of Legends a scintillating and historic team rivalry.

Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
