UK educational institution Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has announced plans for a new campus in London focused on new and creative technologies.

The campus, set to open its doors in September 2023, will be based around an expansion of the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies and will focus on esports, content creation as well as physical and virtual production.

The Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, founded in 1994, has recently started the UK-first Esports Production university program, and has been the host of this years’ Commonwealth Esports Championships qualifiers. Confetti also has courses in music and other creative fields, but esports remains an important focus for the institute.

The new campus will be an expansion of Confetti’s existing London venue, located in Whitechapel.

The addition of a new campus in London will allow for more students to enrol in Confetti classes, but will also allow for existing Confetti and NTU students to collaborate better with London-based colleagues. NTU also announced that students will also access work experience across the UK, as well as spend parts of their studies across both campuses.

The new campus in London will include live events venues for esports and music that are already present at NTU. According to NTU, the new campus will be 35,000 sqft and is already built to welcome its first students in September 2023.

Professor Edward Peck, CBE, NTU Vice-Chancellor, commented: “Confetti London supports NTU’s vision of generating new innovations in teaching and new partnerships for practice that build on our sector leading, industry-based approach.

“It will offer easy access for students in London and the South-East to the opportunities to transform their futures that have been available to those in the East Midlands for twenty-five years.”

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
