A new online, invite-only tournament for Counter-Strike: Global Offense is on the way – the esportsbetting.com Launch Invitational has been announced. The betting platform allows users to place money on some of the major esports titles, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and Dota 2.

The competition will see eight teams – who all received an invitation – face off against each other for their share of the $10,000 (£7,051) prize pool. It’ll span over two weeks, beginning on April 17th.

The invited teams are as follows: LDLC, Quantum Bellator Fire, Spirit, ALTERNATE aTTaX, AVANGAR, Fragsters, eXtatus, and Fnatic Academy. They have been put into two groups, and will first battle it out in a round-robin best-of-one format, though all teams will then advance to a single-elimination best-of-three playoff bracket.

The prize pool distribution will be as follows:
1. $6,000 (£4,238.40)
2. $3,000 (£2,119.20)
3-4. $500 (£353.20)

Esportsbetting.com was launched in February of this year, as the ‘first Malta-built and Malta Gaming Authority licensed esports betting platform’. At the time of it being made public, it also announced its partnership with the Esports Integrity Coalition alongside Betway, Unikrn, SkyBet, ESL, DreamHack, among others.

Adam “friberg” Friberg became a brand ambassador for esportsbetting.com in March, though we’re yet to see exactly how they will work together going forward beyond being attached by name. It also hosts frequent giveaways, in a new addition, it calls ‘Loot Quests’ – giving users a chance to win gaming accessories and peripherals as they bet.

Esports Insider says: It’s encouraging to see esportsbetting.com go beyond merely launching its website by hosting tournaments and giving away some practical, exciting prizes.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
