Riot Games has announced changes to Rising Legends: Monsters Attack, the publisher’s EMEA Teamfight tactics regional competition.
Some of the changes include increasing the prize pool from €50,000 (~£44,100) to €90,000 (~£79,400), introducing new Golden Spatula Cup qualification opportunities and slight changes to its tournament structure.
The EMEA Rising Legends circuit will still utilise a point-based season to qualify for Rising Legends Finals. For the game’s latest set, Monsters Attack, 21 players with the most points will qualify for the finals, which is set to take place in May.
These points will be collected by competing in a range of tournaments, such as Golden Spatula Cups (GSC), and 11 snapshots of the ranked ladder through each participating region (EU West, EU Nordic and East, Turkey and Russia). The top 8 players from the ranked ladder will also gain entry into the Rising Legends Finals.
Like last season there will be three Golden Spatula Cups, with the winners automatically qualifying for Rising Legends Finals.
For the latest set, Teamfight Tactics will also introduce an additional way to qualify for GSCs specifically through TFT Regional Competitions. TRCs are tournaments sanctioned by Riot Games and run by local third-party organisers that will now feed players directly into the GSC qualification. In total, there will be 50 slots available for the best players from EMEA regions to qualify through regional tournaments.
Alongside open qualifiers, players will also be able to qualify for GSCs through the TFT ranked ladder.
The final major change to TFT’s EMEA ecosystem will see its Superbrawl event no longer being an option for qualification to the EMEA finals. The publisher has stated that more details on the format and Superbrawl’s position will come later.
Late last year, Riot Games also renewed its partnership with Wisdom Gaming for its Monsters Attack! Teamfight Tactics competitive series in North America. The Monsters Attack! World Championship is set to take place later in the year.
