Icelandic esports organisation DUSTY has secured a partnership with sponsorship and influencer platform Cavea.io.

The two join forces to help DUSTY with its commercial endeavours and to drive its sales.

DUSTY, the leading Icelandic esports organisation and one of the very few notable ones in the country, was founded in March 2019 with the goal of ”establishing a global powerhouse in esports fueled by exceptional Nordic talent,” according to the organisation’s website. The organisation closed a $1.1m (~£870,000) financing round early last year.

It has since gone on to sign several competitive rosters such as a CS:GO team that competes in ESEA Main Division and a FIFA team. Previously the teams competed in League of Legends within the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) before selling its spot to UniQ Esports Club.

For Cavea, the platform joins a small yet significant list of partners for the Icelandic organisation, alongside apparel company Nike.

In a statement, Asbjorn Asbjornsson, CEO at Dusty, commented: “We look forward to implementing [Caveat’s] AI solution to full extent and believe it has all the necessary ingredients to expedite our rapid growth even further. In my view, this is a groundbreaking venture for Iceland in terms of content creation, tracking and feedback and we look forward to introducing it to our customers.”

Iceland as a nation has lofty esports ambitions. In 2021 Reykjavík hosted the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and VALORANT’s VCT Stage 2 Masters. In an interview with Esports Insider in August 2021, Ólafur Steinarsson, the Chairman of the Icelandic Esports Association (IEA), shared how his organisation aims to make Iceland a top-five esports country in the world.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
