It’s been revealed that ESP Gaming is set to acquire Auzom, a company that organises tournaments for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in both North America and Europe.
This deal was announced by Jeff Liboon, President of ESP Gaming in an interview with Forbes.
ESP Gaming is also hiring Gerard “Atlas” Kelly, the former co-owner of NRG Esports as VP of League Operations. During his stint at NRG, Kelly helped the organisation to obtain investments from Shaquille O’Neal, Alex Rodriguez, and Marshawn Lynch.
This acquisition will enable ESP Gaming to venture into the online space with its tournaments, with Auzom becoming its exclusive online platform. The company plans to expand into other esports titles beyond Vainglory, such as PUBG. As Liboon explains in the interview, “with the acquisition of Auzom we’re broadening our capabilities to produce and host outstanding online tournaments. Up to this point, most of our events have been invitationals or smaller bracket fields hosted at live, in-person events with large audiences. This partnership will allow us to facilitate tournaments for thousands of players or teams at once, expanding our reach to the millions of PUBG gamers and fans across the globe.”
“Auzom as a tournament platform and online series will be the backbone for all of our events. ESP Gaming, from a company standpoint, is committed to producing premium, high-quality content for all genres,” said Liboon, the President of ESP Gaming. “This includes battle royale, racing, sports, first person shooters, MOBAS, and more.”
ESP Gaming is an esports content company that boasts “world-class production expertise”, working with the likes of Twitch, Hearthstone, Vainglory, and World of Tanks Blitz. The company has also provided its services to non-esports events for UFC, NFL, World Series of Poker, and American Ninja Warrior.
To separate itself from other esports tournament organiser, ESP will focus on “quality and entertainment value, and will have a laser focus on the drama of competition.”

With PUBG in particular picking up pace in esports with a recently announced $2 million dollar tournament for instance, we’ll be keeping an eye on the work ESP and Auzom do to elevate the Battle Royale title.
