Software platform Overwolf unveils expansion into North America

Overwolf, a platform that creates, shares and monetises in-game applications, has announced its expansion into North America.

As a result, the company has appointed Christina Grushkin and Matt Jablon as its Directors of Brand Partnerships.

Prior to joining Overwolf, Grushkin held positions as the Head of Sales at Complexity Gaming and Vice President of Partnerships at streaming solutions platform StreamElements. Meanwhile, Jablon was the first US employee for in-game advertising platform Anzu.

Overwolf has access to a wide variety of titles that includes Fortnite, League of Legends, and World of Warcraft. The platform enables content creators to use mods and applications that enhance user experience.

According to a release, the expansion into North America follows a ‘high-growth year’, for the company, with Overwolf stating that it generated over $50m (~£40.9m) in advertising revenue.

Founded in 2010, Overwolf now has 35m monthly active users and 165,000 creators using the platform. The platform continues to expand its offerings through new hires in addition to company acquisitions. In March 2022, it acquired UK-based payment platform Tebex for $29m (~£23.7m). Moreover, last year the company partnered with analytics platform Mobalytics to upgrade its app.
