Publisher Warner Bros. Games and developer NeatherRealm Studios have announced Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition, an $255,000 (~£208,939) FGC esports programme.

The esports circuit, operated by esports and gaming company RTS, aims to build an international ecosystem for the fighting game.

Beginning on October 20th, the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition features a total prize pool of $255,000 (~£208,939) and will conclude with a Final Kombat World Championship event set to take place in June 2024.

The Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition will consist of four in-person events taking place in Stamford (Connecticut), Paris, Sao Paulo and Illinois. Players competing in the events will have an opportunity to qualify for the season-ending championship.

Alongside the competitions, the Final Kombat World Championship will utilise a last-chance qualifier format where 256 players can compete for a chance to play at the event. Details on the location of the event were not disclosed.

In addition to the partnered events, the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition will feature three regional leagues consisting of three qualifiers and a regional final. The regions are North America, Interkontintental Kombat (Europe, Oceania, and Middle East) and Liga Latina (South and Latin America).

This isn’t the first time Mortal Kombat has operated an esports circuit. Prior to the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition, the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition returned in December 2020. More recently, Mortal Kombat 1 featured at EVO 2023. The FGC showcase recorded an 81% increase in the number of total competitors across all titles compared to 2022.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
