PUBG Esports has announced the 10 PUBG Esports Global Partner Team programme members for 2024.
It was announced that the teams include last year’s eight returning organisations alongside two newcomers. The partnered teams’ first major tournament appearance will be at the PUBG Global Series 2024 Phase 3 which takes place offline in May 2024.
The two new Global Partner Teams are CERBERUS Esports and Daytrade Gaming. The former has been involved with PUBG Esports since 2019 when it signed its first Vietnamese roster. Since then the Vietnamese organisation has stuck to its roots and signed players only from its region. Its commitment to homegrown talent was rewarded with a win at the PUBG Vietnam Series 2023: Spring, and a 7th place finish at the most recent PUBG Global Championship.
Daytrade Gaming on the other hand is a Thai organisation which also joined PUBG Esports in 2019 with its original team being named ‘Daytrade BEAR’. The team has had regional success, winning the PUBG Thailand Series 2023 – Phase 1 last year and had a successful run on the international stage coming 13th out of 32 teams at PUBG Global Championship 2023.
According to the PUBG announcement, Krafton, the South Korean video game publisher, assessed the top teams around the world with extensive criteria that placed an emphasis on Fandom. The two teams were selected because both have passionate fanbases dedicated to the esport.
The two teams join the eight remaining PUBG organisations that were named Global Partner Teams last year. These are:
- 17Gaming
- FaZe CLAN
- Four Angry Men
- Gen.G
- NAVI
- Petrichor Road
- Soniqs
- Twisted Minds
The 10 partner teams will be accompanied by the best 14 teams throughout the Phase 1 leagues at the PUBG Global Series 2024 Phase 3 LAN event. Specific details, such as dates and location, for the event have yet to be announced.
The biggest change from 2023 is that there will now be 10 Global Partner Teams as opposed to eight. During Phase 3 of last year, the makeup of the Global Partner Teams was three from Europe, four from Asia, and one from the Americas.
