British Esports has announced an education-focused partnership with game developer Level Infinite, owned by Tencent Games.
The collaboration aims to ‘shed light’ on career opportunities in the esports scene through the use of a video interview series featuring team members from Level Infinite.
According to the British Esports article, the partnership is aimed towards young individuals in the UK and the Middle East. The interviews, lasting approximately 10 minutes, provide a look into the staff’s journey. This includes conversations on the esports industry, skills that are needed and available career avenues.
Founded in 2021, Level Infinite is a video game company best known for being the publisher of Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile, alongside other titles.
The list of interviewees include James Yang, Director of Global Esports Center, Tencent Games; Abdallah Al Ghifari, Senior Esports Manager, Level Infinite MENA, Tencent Global Games; Krys Jaro, Senior Esports Manager, Level Infinite MENA, Tencent Global Games; Lexi Ma, Lead of Esports Operations, Level Infinite; Max Yeung, Senior Esports Manager, Level Infinite; and Jay Liang, Esports Manager, Level Infinite.
The weekly video series will start on February 14th and will be accessible through British Esports’ website and social media platforms. Interestingly, British Esports noted that the videos will be linked and unlisted.
British Esports also highlighted that the collaboration aims to promote the esports industry as a career path, offer a reference point for individuals, demonstrate skills that are needed and highlight the ‘upward trajectory’ of gaming in the Middle East. British Esports has already secured a range of partnerships in 2024.
This includes launching an esports safeguarding event earlier this month with NSPCC and teaming up with RUCKUS Networks for its National Esports Performance Campus. Last year, however, the company came under criticism from the esports community for its ‘historic’ partnership with the Saudi Esports Federation and its subsequent statement on the collaboration.
