The Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) has announced that the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) will return to Esports Stadium Arlington, Texas, with McDonald’s as the presenting sponsor.

The competition, which features 84 teams competing across four game titles (Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and VALORANT), will see some of the best competitive talents in scholastic esports compete against each other.

CECC Texas will be held on May 3rd-5th, with official year-end tournaments for its circuit. Youth esports platform Vanta will also crown Texas middle and high school champions.

In 2023, the event welcomed more than 3,000 fans, with more than 400 athletes across North America. The event’s success didn’t go unnoticed, as CECC Texas 2023 was awarded LAN Event of the Year during the inaugural Scholars Awards in Las Vegas.

Following last year’s success, McDonald’s will continue to support the event, bringing a series of on-site activations, custom digital content and various gaming giveaways. Additionally, the fast food brand will also have a private red carpet Jersey Ceremony at the start of the weekend, where each athlete will receive a branded jersey.

To determine the participating teams, regional competitions are being held across the United States. The Midwest and East Regional tournaments were held at the end of 2023 while the CECC South Regional, CECC West Regional, CECC Canadian Regional, and CECC Last Chance Qualifier are taking place between February and April 2024.

Michael Schreck, CSMG Chief Executive Officer, commented: “This mega event continues to draw interest from numerous markets across the country. After evaluating all of our options, we have decided that with the level of support and collaboration, we experienced in 2023, along with the continued resources and growth of the Dallas market for sports events, we needed to be back in Texas.

“We’ve had our sights set on an even bigger and better event in Arlington to welcome the best scholastic competitors and fans from North America.”

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
