VfL Wolfsburg, a German sports club that first entered esports in 2015, has partnered with telecommunications company Vodafone.

The club was the first side that competed in the German Bundesliga to enter the esports industry, entering the world of FIFA. VfL Wolfsburg existing sponsors include CosmosDirekt, UPS Germany, effect, and Turtle Beach.

Vodafone became a premium partner of ESL after initially getting involved for IEM Katowice, specifically getting involved with all ESL One, ESL Pro League, and IEM events in 2018. In March, VfL Wolfsburg launched Wolves E-Academy: a FIFA esports team that develops budding talent in FIFA.

Dr. Tim Schumacher, Managing Director of VfL Wolsburg stated: “We have already worked together on many exciting projects and are looking forward to implementing them very soon and sharing them with our fans. The commitment of a company like Vodafone is, not the least, a clear indication of just how rapidly developments in esports are currently proceeding and shows us that we are already on the right path.”

Vodafone Germany has sponsored esports organisation mousesports since May 2017 and is the title sponsor of the Vodafone Giants – a Spanish organisation that competes in Call of Duty, League of Legends, CS:GO, Clash Royale, Hearthstone, and Pokémon.

Esports Insider says: VfL Wolfsburg has a solid stable of sponsors for its esports division, and adding Vodafone to that list can only be a positive thing. The telecoms company has proved time and time again this year that it’s serious about investing in esports, and that’s a great thing for the industry.

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
