NHL team New Jersey Devils will host a video game day in its brand new esports lounge when the team faces off against the Carolina Hurricanes on March 9th.

The event is to celebrate the formation of the recently launched Devils Gaming Group and will feature the unveiling of the new Devils Gaming Group Esports Lounge.

The video game day will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey during the 12:30 game and will feature various events for fans to partake in. At 10:00 the grand opening for the Devils Gaming Group Esports Lounge will take place led by representatives of the National Hockey League, local ‘esports influencers’, and esports players from Team Dignitas, Gyro, and AlarmingAmber.

The aforementioned esports players will also be available for autographs and meet and greets.

Fans will be able to play on classic gaming stations that will be available all across the main concourse of the arena whilst a band will be performing video game-related songs before the game and during the intervals. In the second intermission, fans will also be able to play EA SPORTS™ NHL 24 against the team’s mascot, NJ Devil, in the esports lounge.

The lounge, which overlooks the Prudential Center ice, will be available to hire for group entertainment experiences and will also serve as the venue for in-person esports tournaments and livestreams. Specific details of any future activations have yet to be announced.

The Devils Gaming Group was formed in October 2023 in collaboration with Rival, a fan engagement platform, and was funded by the NHL/NHLPA Industry Growth Fund. Rival has worked with other sports teams in the past including English football team Brighton and Hove Albion. The release noted that the platform will also host an array of activations in the newly opened esports lounge.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
