Grassroots UK esports operator epic.LAN has announced a new partnership with Grosvenor Casinos’ parent company Rank Group, and the pair are set to feature a circuit of one day UK CS:GO tournaments with £10,000 of prizes on offer.

Jon Winkle, Managing Director epic.LANThe partnership will see the two companies host six events, five qualifiers and the final, in various venues owned by the casino giant. These will be one-day ‘turn up and play’ tournaments, where the competitors just need to pay the entrance fee to get involved. The qualifiers are set to be held over July and August, from which the winning teams will head to the final at the Grosvenor Coventry later this year. Each qualifier will have £1,000 on offer, before the final hands out £5,000 in prizes. Due to the nature of the venues themselves, these will all be 18+ tournaments.

Jon Winkle, epic.LAN Managing Director commented: “epic.LAN has always provided community-level tournaments for esports and recognises that some of the barriers to taking part in esports for new teams are the costs of entry and transport. That’s why we’re really looking forward to delivering this new tournament series with the team from Grosvenor Casinos so we can bring esports straight to the community and give more people opportunities to get involved.”

Callum Scott, Events & Entertainment Project Manager at Rank Group added: “We are very excited about working with epic.LAN. Having played for 10 years, I know how hard it can be to get some much-needed LAN experience. We wanted to work with epic.LAN to offer tournaments outside of London, bringing it to the players and helping grow to our UK talent. It’s all about building a starting point for our future world-class teams!”

All further details on how to take part and results from each tournament, as well as dates for each venue, can be found on the dedicated website.

Esports Insider says: Big news from epic.LAN, an organisation well known in the UK for their grassroots-focused approaches to various scenes. The news that sees these two companies bring big esports events up and down the UK is always good news, and we hope to see it expand further.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
