Formula 1 driver and current F1 World Champion Max Verstappen is set to make an appearance at the Heineken Player 0.0 Global Final during GAMERGY.

The event, which will take place in Madrid, Spain this December, will see 23 finalists face off to win the title of Player 0.0 Global Champion, with Verstappen joining on stage during the competition.

GAMERGY is an esports gaming event series that takes place each year, offering competitions categorised by professional, amateur and educational to foster different levels of participation.

Organised by IFEMA MADRID in association with technology company GGTech, GAMERGY has delivered over 20 esports and gaming festival events across various continents, including Europe, North and South America.

Heineken Player 0.0 is a sim racing and mobile game initiative created by Heineken. It is part of the brand’s commitment to the message of “The Best Driver is the one who is not drinking”. As well as running the Heineken Player 0.0 competition at GAMERGY, Heineken 0.0 is also sponsoring the event.

Earlier this year, the GAMERGY festival headed to Miami where it hosted the 2024 Call of Duty League Major II, making it the first edition of the event series in the United States. In 2023, the festival was also hosted in Mexico and Argentina, alongside Spain.

GGTech Entertainment made headlines back in June 2023 when it secured a $12.4m (~£9.93m) investment with the goal of entering the North American market, as well as propelling its presence in Europe, MENA and LATAM.

Prior to the additional capital raised, the company operated in the amateur, semi-pro and educational esports tournaments. Aside from GAMERGY, GGTech has been in charge of the Amazon University Esports series in Europe.

Cristina Carranza, Global Head of Sales at GGTech, spoke on the announcement: “In the past few years, we have seen how the traditional sports and gaming ecosystems have come closer together in innovative and immersive ways.

“At our most recent GAMERGY México edition, we saw our tennis, football, boxing, skateboarding, and paddle activations being amongst the most popular gaming fair attractions. We are very excited to partner with Heineken in adding Player 0.0 to the digital fandom.”

Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
