Game developer Riot Games has confirmed the artists who will perform at the 2024 League of Legends Worlds Finals Opening Ceremony.
Set to take place at London’s O2 Arena on November 2nd before the grand final, Linkin Park, Ashnikko, Mars Atlas of Forts and Tiffany Aris will perform songs for the ceremony, all of which are connected to League of Legends. This includes the Worlds 2024 anthem ‘Heavy Is The Crown‘.
This year’s League of Legends World Championship has been taking place in Europe, with early stages held in Germany before the tournament moved to France for its quarter-finals and semi-finals. The grand final will take place in London’s O2 Arena on Saturday, November 2nd.
League of Legends’ opening ceremonies have become somewhat of an anticipated spectacle, with various artists, such as Lil Nas X and New Jeans, having performed at the World Finals in the past. This year the opening ceremony will include performances from various artists connected to this year’s League of Legends season.
Linkin Park will be the main act of the night, performing its League of Legends Worlds 2024 anthem called Heavy is The Crown. In addition, Ashnikko will perform ‘Paint The Town Blue’ from the upcoming season of Riot Games’ series Arcane.
Finally, Mars Atlas of Forts and Tiffany Aris will take to the stage to perform ‘Still Here’, known to League of Legends fans as the song from the 2024 competitive season cinematic video.
The Worlds 2024 finals match will see reigning champions T1 take on Bilibili Gaming in a replay of the lower bracket final of the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational, which also took place in London. The event has been a success in terms of viewership so far, with just under 5m peak viewers, according to Esports Charts. The tournament is currently on track to become the most-viewed esports event in history.
Riot Games has previously confirmed that the 2025 edition of Worlds will take place in China.
